Coca-cola Lake

I painted this in watercolour from a sketch at Lake Rotopokaka in Northland. This guy was supposed to be watching his kids but lost focus for a bit while they swam off and hid in the reeds at the edge of the lake. He was pretty surprised when he came back to himself and realised his own kids had disappeared and another little girl had swum into the frame - he was clearly thinking, 'who is this kid?' That was the moment I wanted to capture.
