The original mixed-media painting was created during a period of global restriction and shifting power dynamics. To embody the feeling of the era, I used unique mixed-media techniques including unconventional stamping to create a textured 'medical blue' undercoat. A central motif of a mouth, tilted 90 degrees, is layered with acrylics using brushes and rollers to build a sense of depth and 'suffocation.'
