Conversation with the Devil

I've always been interested in impossible shapes and optical illusions, and I started out simply sketching some overlapping figures. If you look closely, you'll be able to pick out numerous figures (demons?) around the conversationalists, whispering in their ears or attempting to influence the outcome any way they can, quite a few serpents, an inverted chalice . . . and so on!
The act of painting this was, perhaps, my own "conversation with the devil."
